When you join MBCA’s Co-Op you are volunteering your time to support your children and other children of MBCA’s Co-Op.
All parents are required to teach and/or co-teach one class and help in one class during the time that their children are enrolled in classes. We may require campus monitor positions as well.
MBCA’s Co-Op is not a drop off co-op. If for any reason you must leave the premises during co-op or an event, you must designate an agreeing adult to watch your children and fulfill your volunteer responsibilities. You must also notify the MBCA board.
Notify the MBCA board immediately if you decide to not attend co-op at any time during the semester.
If you have a child who is two years of age or younger, you may have our volunteer nursery workers look after your child or you may bring your child with you to class. We will take into consideration the ages of your children when we assign volunteer positions.
Nursery workers are not required to change or assist children in the restroom. If you have a child in diapers or pull-ups who require assistance, you will be called to attend to your child’s diaper/restroom needs.
During your volunteer hours you are not to be on your phone or other devices unnecessarily. We do encourage taking photos of students, when it does not affect your classroom commitments. We need photos for our yearbook and we will have a link on our Facebook page for members to submit photos.
Most of our volunteers do not have training with caring or supporting a child with significant special needs. Parents of special needs children are required to stay with their child and help in their classes to the best of their ability.
When you or your children are sick please do not attend co-op or events. You must wait 24 hours from when you or your child last had fever, vomiting, diarrhea and/or rash before attending co-op. You/they must be sickness free without the aid of medication.
In the event of an absence you are required to post on the MBCA Facebook page and notify your co-teachers/helpers.
Parents are responsible for their own children during lunch, when their children are not enrolled in a class, at all events and field trips.
If you have an issue or concern at co-op, notify a member of the MBCA board directly. We can’t solve a problem if we aren’t notified.
