Teacher Expectations

Set up – First period teachers are required to set up their room with the classroom basket, door hanger and tables/chairs, if needed.

Cleaning – All teachers and helpers (1st period, 2nd period, 3rd period and 4th period) are required to clean their classroom at the end of their class.

Tear Down/Cleaning – Fourth period teachers/helpers are responsible for putting the room back the way we found it and for the final clean of the room. The final cleaning of the classroom includes wiping the tables and chairs, putting tables and chairs back, vacuuming/sweeping, emptying the trash, leaving a garbage bag in the can and putting the classroom basket and door-hanger in the appropriate area. Pictures of the classroom will be provided in the classroom basket for reference. Teachers/helpers will be provided with all supplies needed. Dirty Rooms – If you enter your classroom and it is dirty, take a photo and contact a MBCA board member. If you leave your classroom dirty you will be called back to clean your room. You will receive a /warning. Please respect Crawford Baptist Church and the teacher that will use the room after you by leaving a clean room behind.

Class Descriptions – Teachers are required to write a description, in a timely manner, of their class for class registration.

Planning – Teachers are to make a syllabus for their class. They are required to have supplies and instruction for a least one full class stored in one of the co-op supply closets, in case of their absence.

Giving Instructions – Teachers are to make their instruction time in class as engaging and clear as possible.

Taking Class Roll – Teachers are responsible for taking roll in their class. This helps everyone to learn students names and locate any missing students. If a student is thought to be missing, notify the front desk immediately.

Budgeting – Teachers will receive class funds for every student in their class per semester. Teachers will not receive any additional funds for their class after class registration has ended unless a new student is added to their roster. Teachers should budget accordingly.

New Students – If a new student attends your class and they have a name tag that indicates they are in the right class, please write their name on your class roll. Parents are responsible for paying the teacher personally for their child joining your class. If you do not receive payment, notify the board.

Expense Reports – Teachers are responsible for all funds associated with their class. They are responsible to show all receipts for purchases of materials for their class on an expense report for each semester. Teachers are not allowed to “roll over” money from semester to semester. Expense reports will be submitted by teachers to the board by the last co-op of each semester.

Returning Unused Class Funds or Supplies – Teachers will return any unused funds or supplies to MBCA. If you purchased supplies (books, games, crafts supplies, sports equipment, appliances, etc.) with class funds they are considered property of MBCA and must be returned.

Communicate with Helpers – Teachers will be assigned a helper for their class when needed. Teachers are responsible for communicating with their helper in order to conduct their class efficiently.

Observing Their Classroom for Discipline/Bullying Problems – Teachers and helpers are to observe their class for discipline/bullying problems. Teachers have the responsibility of notifying the MBCA board of any discipline/bullying problems. Discipline Incident Reports are available. Teachers are to act fairly towards all students.

Be Present and Punctual – Teachers and helpers are to be present and punctual to their assigned classrooms. We understand that illnesses happen but teachers should always try to fulfill their obligations to the best of their ability.

Surveys – All moms or adult who brings a student to MBCA must complete a survey each semester. The surveys are the boards main way of receiving information about membership, future classes and feedback.
