Mobile Bay Christian Academy follows the guidelines set by the Home School Legal Defense Association and acts as a church school in the state of AL. MBCA is a ministry of Transformation Church. (13150 Jaycee Rd., Bay Minette, AL)
If this status were to ever change the MBCA board would immediately notify all MBCA members.
We can legally only cover families that have a current Alabama residence and address.
It is the parents responsibility to educate their children and to keep records of grades and to submit attendance at the end of the school year on MBCA’s website. We are legally responsible to keep a record of the attendance that is submitted.
It is the parents responsibility to make transcripts for their students. We only provide a template. MBCA will not sign transcripts or any other legal documents.
A Church School Enrollment Form will be made for each student in our covering and will be hand delivered to the appropriate school board. We keep a copy of all Church School Enrollment Forms. The fall after the student turns six years of age is when we notify the school boards. Notify the MBCA Board the fall after your student turns six in order for us to file the appropriate form.
Church School Enrollment Forms must be filed with your current school board. If you have moved to a new district please notify the MBCA board.
A background check will be run on all adults who attend co-op on a regular basis.
A release of liability is required to attend co-op.
MBCA CO-OP
Church school cover fees will be due every year.
Church building fees and class fees will be billed per semester.
We will have a financial report available at the end of every semester for members of MBCA co-op.
MBCA’s Co-Op meets once per week on Thursday’s at Crawford Baptist Church. (3000 Sun Valley Dr., Mobile, AL 36618)
Every co-op year, there are two semesters with twelve days each. Each semester will contain ten co-op class days and two party/field days.
All members of co-op are required to wear a lanyard with their name and volunteer assignments/classes displayed. All guests must be approved at the front desk, wear a visitor lanyard with their name and complete a release of liability.
Any issue with co-op should be brought to the MBCA board and not the staff at Crawford Baptist Church.
The MBCA board will handle disciplinary issues as they arise. We will treat each incident fairly. Once you or your child have been written up twice the board will review your membership. If your membership is terminated you will not be refunded in any way.
